There is only one Oppo Reno 6 configuration, which includes 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Due to the lack of a microSD slot, the latter can only hold two Nano-SIM cards. It's available in both the Aurora and Stellar Black trims that we first saw on Reno 6 Pro.

Design and Build

First of all, the Oppo Reno 6 is different from its Pro sibling in terms of design. Displays and frames have been swapped out for flat edges and matte finished metal frames with exposed antenna bands. Although the Reno 6's design strongly resembles that of the iPhone 12*, it seems to work well for it. As for the color, it looks really decent, especially in Aurora. As slim as the Oppo Reno 6 Pro (7.59 mm), the Oppo Reno 6 is also slightly heavier at 182g. 

Processor and Functionality

In addition to the SoC, the Oppo Reno 6 also differs from its siblings in terms of price. Oppo claims it is the first phone in India to use MediaTek's Dimensity 900 SoC, which was announced only recently. On the performance front, we'll be seeing lower benchmark results than the Dimensity 1200, but we'll see if that has any affect on actual usage.

With ColorOS 11.3, you get a smooth operating system with very good functionality. On the Reno 6, you can also find a few features and apps from OxygenOS. There will also be spam from a few stock apps that you cannot uninstall.

Battery and Performance

It is still powerful enough to run day-to-day tasks and games at full-HD+ resolution despite the drop in power compared to the Reno 6 Pro. The 90Hz refresh rate ensures smooth scrolling in menus and apps during multitasking. It scored well in benchmark tests as well. While I used social apps and watched videos on the phone, it barely got warm during normal use.

With daily usage, I easily averaged more than a full day on a single charge. Also, the Reno 6 ran for 16 hours and 49 minutes in our HD video loop test. One of the best things about this battery is that it can be charged almost completely within half an hour. The Reno 6 can also be charged using other fast charging standards, including USB-PD (18W, in case you do not have Oppo's fast charger with you).

Camera

In comparison to the Oppo Reno 6 Pro, the Reno 6 lacks the rear depth camera, but other than that, both smartphones have the same set of sensors. The camera on the back is 64-megapixels, while the front has 32-megapixels for selfies, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Similarly, the Reno 6 Pro offers the same features for photography and videography.

In spite of its lacking sleek design and power, the Oppo Reno 6 does not disappoint. This phone should be capable of handling most apps and games with its new design and premium feel.
